FEATURES

Bottom-Bracket

Lowest center of gravity
in Ellsworth history

The goal was to capture the legendary instant center tracking suspension in the most compact and integrated package possible. This creates a precise handling, flawless suspension function and amazing acceleration.

ShocK

Custom Fox Float with
Titanium hardware

Easy to reach shock adjustment negates the need for a complicated cockpit. Titanium bolts provide the best quality hardware possible.

SHOCK-CRUD-GUARD-

Shock
"crud-guard"

The specially designed crud-guard protects the shock from crud, and the accumulation of crud on the inside of the stay and downtube area.

HEX-TAPER-AXLE-2

Hex taper
axle

Our proprietary hex taper axle prevents the two dropouts from torsional independence. This locks the lateral movement of the left and right stays of the bike.

Overview

The Truth upsets what people currently accept as functional suspension. It’s a product of the culmination of 25 years of design and technology integration that hinges on the same three imperatives that have always driven Ellsworth bike design - Improved Traction and Control, Always Active Suspension, and Energy Efficiency. The simple result is this; those who ride the Truth will be able to go farther and faster with less fatigue.

Active Suspension
Active-Logo.svg

The Active Suspension on the Truth is designed so that it is always active. It’s always reacting and responding (compressing and rebounding) to bump input from the trail. It’s always working to maintain better contact with the trail for increased traction and control. It’s always working to help you go farther and faster with less fatigue. Suspension must be fully active. In other words, it must work all of the time if it is to be of positive effect on the rider experience.

Zero Chain Growth

Zero Chain Growth

The Truth exhibits zero chainstay growth throughout the suspension travel range. This means that there is zero feedback through the pedals as the rear suspension cycles through its travel range. It’s another reason that you can pedal forcefully through rough sections of trail without constraining the rear suspension via drivetrain forces, leaving the bike able to constantly and actively manage bump response and maintain traction and control.

Vertical Axle Path

Vertical Axle Path

The vertical axle path on the new Truth is a result of the far-forward instant center placement, and it ensures that bump response is managed in a neutral fashion. Since mountain biking takes place on truly dynamic terrain, from square-edged bumps producing high speed compression events or rolling, low frequency bumps producing low-speed compression events, this neutral, active demeanor is important. It means that the rider on the Truth feels less bump impact through the bike, and that the suspension can better maintain contact with the trail surface for increased traction and control.

Boost Spacing

Boost Spacing As Per Industry Standards

Like the rest of the Ellsworth lineup, the Truth utilizes boost hub spacing. Incorporating an extra 6mm in the rear and 10mm in the front hubs yields great rewards with increased bracing angles for the spokes. This adds significant lateral stiffness to the wheels increasing performance and durability as well. Boost hub spacing also allows clearance for bigger tires as the chainline moves outboard to 52mm, freeing up that crucial space for the driveside chainstay between the tire and chainring.

Integrated Front

Integrated Front Headset

The Truth now utilizes a fully integrated headset. It’s a more intricate manufacturing process, but it introduces simplicity, style and performance to the Truth. By doing so, we’ve also reduced maintenance and eliminated possible creaking.
